Eagles Soar Past Central For Conference Win

The Smyrna girls soccer team picked up yet another conference win Thursday, when they hosted Sussex Central and pulled out a 8-2 win. The Eagles improve to 6-3 on the year, while the Golden Knights fall to 2-7.
The Eagles would jump out to a quick lead after Casey Bell, Michelle Jong and Kylie McCusker would all find the back of the net. It looked like Central was in danger of getting blow out before Raeonna Stratton got going, scoring two straight goals to get her team back within striking distance. But the Eagles just kept on coming, getting scores from four other players on their way to the win.
Sussex Central returns to action on Tuesday when they travel to Seaford, while Smyrna travels to Middletown on Monday.
