Dover man charged with assault and burglary

A Dover man is facing charges, after he apparently assaulted a woman, and damaged several items in her home.

Dover Police say on Tuesday around 10:20 AM, 22-year-old James Singleton went into the home of an acquaintance on Stewart Court, and assaulted the 20-year-old woman. While inside, Police say Singleton also damaged several items belonging to the victim.

Once on scene, Officers say they were able to arrest Singleton, and charge him with burglary second degree, assault third degree, and criminal mischief. He was then ordered to be held at the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on a $6,500 secured bond.
