DeMora shines as Polytech rolls over Cape

Whitney DeMora hit three home-runs, driving in 8 runs as the Polytech Panthers improved to 8-4 on the year, defeating Cape 12-6 on Friday afternoon.

Demora connected for power shots on all but two of her at bats, drawing walks in those. Her shot in the fourth inning was a grand slam. Polytech starter Taylor Pechin registered 11 strikeouts in the game. Riley Shields went 5-5 for Cape in the loss.

Both teams are back in action on Tuesday, when Polytech hosts Laurel, and Cape visits Seaford.
