Delmar teen charged for tampering with Wico. Co. Sheriff patrol vehicle near courthouse

Another Wicomico County teen has been charged, after a second incident involving people climbing onto patrol vehicles.

The Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office says on Wednesday afternoon, around 2:45 PM, a staff member from the Wicomico County Circuit Court alerted Sheriff’s Office personnel about a female standing on the hood of a marked Sheriff’s Office vehicle. The patrol car was was apparently parked in front of the Circuit Court Complex.

According to the report, the Deputy was able to locate the 15-year-old girl, and take her into custody, during which she told the deputy “You better get the F*** off me” before attempting to pull away. Investigators say the footprints left behind on the patrol car, matched the sneakers of the teenager in custody.

She was charged with malicious destruction of property, and climbing on a vehicle with malicious intent. She was then released to the custody of a parent, pending formal court action.

This is the second incident of teens standing on patrol cars in front of the Court Complex on Court Street. Three teens were charged similarly for an incident from April 13.
