Colonels jump on Vikings early, cruise to win
The Colonel Richardson Colonels defeated the Cambridge Vikings 15-3 in five innings on Thursday afternoon.
The Colonels pushed 6 runs across in the first inning off of four hits. Cambridge fired back in the bottom half of the first after senior shortstop Michael Richardson blasted a three-run shot to left field.
That shot is all the Vikings would benefit off of, as Colonel pitcher Jaret Bennett would lock down. They would score nine more runs as Bennett would kick it into gear, to retire his last 14 batters and register nine strikeouts in 5 complete innings.
