Clippers Bounce Back, Top Crisfield

The James M. Bennett boys baseball team earned a bounce back win Thursday when they hit the road, and topped Crisfield 13-0. The win improves the Clippers to 5-2, while the loss drops the Crabbers to 2-9 on the season.
Bennett would jump out to a quick lead, thanks to a big day at the plate by Cade Hurley. He would finish 4-4 with 6 RBI’s to pace the offense, while the Clippers also found production out of Tyler Shockley who got a ground rule double, and Tyler Dunn and Connor Banks who both had 2 hits. The lead quickly grew to double digits, and that looked to be more than enough for Dunn who was dealing on the mound, holding a no hitting late into the 5th. The Crabbers would do all they could to change the momentum, and got a lift when Jason Borden was able to deliver a couple strike outs in relief. But Bennett was able to roll to the win.
The Clippers return to work on Saturday when they travel to Kent Island, while Crisfield travels to Mardela on Monday.
