Big Second Half Helps Seahawks Clip Bennett

The Stephen Decatur boys lacrosse team pulled out a win Friday in comeback fashion over Bennett 7-4. The win improves the Seahawks to 4-7, while the loss drops the Clippers to 5-5.

Bennett would come out of the gates strong, taking a 3-1 lead into the break. But the momentum quickly swung in the second half. Charlie Coatts would bounce one home to tie up the match. Then shortly after that, Bennett would fire right back as Luke Nester would shake his defender, then whip shot one home far post. But the Seahawks just kept on coming. Steven Alther would have the highlight of the match, taking a pass in the crease, then while getting pushed and being off balance, would whip a shot behind his head and far post for the score. Decatur continued to roll from there, as Robbie Duke would rifle one in from the left side in the 4th quarter to put away the game.

Decatur returns to work on Wednesday when they travel to Parkside, while Bennett returns to work on Wednesday to host Wi-Hi.
