Apr. 15 – AAA 400 Drive for Autism

Dover International Speedway is once again hosting a special event for families affected by autism. On Sunday, May 15, 2016 during the track’s running of the AAA 400 Drive for Autism, the Autism Awareness Day at the Races will provide families with a sensory-friendly environment to enjoy the race.
The track is offering a special Autism Day at the races ticket package that will include seating in the air-conditioned grandstand area of the Monster Mile which offers great views of the high banks and backstretch of the track.
Other highlights include pre-race appearances by some of NASCAR’s biggest superstars! Past appearances were made by King Richard Petty, Jamie McMurray, Kasey Kahne, Clint Bowyer, Darrell Waltrip and many more!
Families will also be able to visit displays set up by regional service organizations that will be of interest to families with a child on the spectrum. Toys, games, sensory-friendly areas, crafts & other fun activities are planned for families who need a break from the racing action. Food & drinks, including some gluten free options will also be available.
Presenters scheduled are Autism Society of America, Organization for Autism Research, Autism Speaks and many more.
