Apr. 12 – Relay For Life of SU

This year will be Salisbury University’s 15th Relay For Life! Since we started in 2002 our campus has raised over $1 million for the American Cancer Society!
Last year some 70 teams representing over 1,500 SU students, faculty, staff, families and community members took part in Relay For Life; “One World, One Hope, Relay Around the World”. Last year teams added over $128,000 to the prior cumulative total, bringing SU’s total donations to over $1,068,000. SU students have united this campus with this event over the years, in total, more than 12,000 SU students have participated.
Community manager Debbie White said, “I’ve worked beside outstanding SU students for many years through Relay. These are the youth we don’t hear enough about; the ones who commit to a cause and give hundreds of hours of planning and hard work. These are the youth who care about this community’s future and the future of the world – a world with less cancer and more birthdays.”
SU’s Relay is consistently among the top collegiate Relays in the nation. Winning awards including: Leader of Hope, South Atlantic Division Spirit of Relay, Excellence in Service Student Group, Rookie of the Year, and Outstanding Advocacy!
