1 treated after home destroyed by fire in Silver Spring

Fire officials say one person was treated for smoke inhalation after a massive blaze destroyed a home in Silver Spring.
Montgomery County fire department officials say the home was a total loss, with damage estimated at $750,000. A house next door sustained some heat damage.
The fire broke out around 4:30 a.m. Sunday. Fire officials say the lone occupant escaped after inhaling some smoke. The person was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Because of the heavy flames, firefighters were not able to remain inside the house for long. They spent hours bringing the blaze under control from outside the structure.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
