Wallops launch goes off without a hitch

It was all thumbs up at NASA Wallops Island Monday morning thanks to a successful rocket launch.

A Terrier-Improved Orion suborbital sounding rocket took off with its payload, as planned flying over 99 miles before descending.

These launches are used to test out different materials to make sure they can survive the harsh conditions of space.

We’re told the payload has been recovered and was returned to Wallops.

Engineers will then be able to more closely analyze the results of their instruments.

The next wallops launch is planned for June 23.
