UPDATE: Phillips Avenue house fire ruled accidental

A house fire in Salisbury, has been ruled as accidental.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says the fire started just after 3:20 PM, at a home on Phillips Avenue, in Salisbury, and was discovered by the occupant of the single story single family house.

About 15 firefighters from Salisbury Fire Department Station 16, responded to the scene, and had the flames under control in twenty minutes. Investigators say they found that the fire started in the back wall assembly, and was caused by an electrical outlet failure.

The blaze has been ruled as accidental. Damages are estimated to total $20,000.
