UPDATE: Man found dead in Rehoboth house fire

The Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company says, after firefighters put out flames at a Rehoboth mobile home, a male victim was discovered in the residence.

According to reports, Tuesday just after 5:00 AM, the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company was called for a reported fire to a mobile home on Center Avenue in Sea Air off Coastal Highway. Upon arrival, fire officials say the home was fully engulfed in flames.  As firefighters were extinguishing the fire a male victim was reportedly found.

According to officials, The Delaware Division of Forensic Science took custody of the victim and an autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow to positively identify the victim.

The Delaware State Fire Marshall’s office and the Delaware State Police are investigating the fire.

Officials say the heavy fire damage was estimated at $30,000 in total.  The two house trailers on each side sustained exterior damage due to being exposed to the burning house trailer.

Rehoboth Beach Firefighters were reportedly assisted by Lewes, Indian River, and Bethany Beach Fire Companies. The Sussex County EMS were also apparently on scene.
