Two candidates seeking VA Representative seat

Two candidates announced their intent to run for the seat held by U.S. Representative Scott Rigell. In January, Rigell announced he will not seek re-election.

Rigell serves the second district of Virginia  which includes Accomack and North Hampton counties. So far, two Republicans have declared a run for the seat. U.S. Congressman Randy Forbes from District 2 and Virginia delegate Scott Taylor from District 85. An official with the Accomack County Board Of Elections says neither men have officially filed yet. If they both file, a primary would need to be held to choose one Republican candidate. The deadline to file for the race is April 5th.
