SU Baseball Splits Twin Bill With Frostburg

The Salisbury University baseball team split their double header Saturday afternoon with Frostburg State, dropping game 1 4-3, before bouncing back to take game 2 8-4.
The Bobcats would jump out to a lead in game one after Cody Harmon would rip an RBI single into left field in the 4th. The Gulls then would respond in the 5th after Tyler Hrycak would blast a 2 run shot to give his team the lead. Then after the teams were tied up in the 8th, Hrycak would again come up big for SU ripping an RBI single to give SU the lead. But the Sea Gulls were unable to hold onto the lead down the stretch. The Bobcats would score 2 unearned runs in the top of the 9th and hold on for the win.
In game 2, SU would be the ones that would jump out to an early lead. Jack Barry drew a walk with the bases loaded. That was followed by an infield error by the Bobcats that allowed 2 more runs to score off a chopper to short by Scott Ardoin. Frostburg then got a pair of runs back in the 5th after Delmar grad Chad Wein blasted a 2 run shot. SU though would plate 3 runs in the 7th and 2 more in the 8th to put the game away.
Salisbury University returns to action on Wednesday when they travel to Marymount.
