Stephen Decatur Advances to Next Round of Playoffs

Stephen Decatur will play in the next round of playoffs after beating Hammond at home 53-37 Tuesday night. The Seahawks will host Chesapeake Thursday night in round 3 off the playoffs. 

The Seahawks did not have much trouble advancing as they relied on a powerful defense and a strong offensive showing to propel their team to victory. 

It all started in the first quarter as the Seahawks outscored Hammond 15-2. Hammond not forgetting about that tried to make a comeback and outscored the Seahawks 14-8. That of course was not enough to give Hammond the lead as the Seahawks went into the locker room at halftime up 23-16. 

The second half would be no different as they led Hammond 35-24 after the 3rd quarter. 

The Seahwaks were led by Dayona Godwin with 24pts and 17 rebounds and Amaya Mumford with 14.
