Southern Delaware School of Arts unveils mural

The Southern Delaware School of the Arts unveiled more than a months worth of work Monday night, showing off a mural that is located in the hallway outside of their library.

The mural includes contributions from students in kindergarten through eighth grade, teachers, and even some parents.

The mural was the result of a partnership with the Freeman foundation, but folks with the foundation say this project is unique.

The mural featured a bookshelf around the books designed by the school’s set creation team.

Each title on each book is a personal message from its creator.

We caught up with one student, who told 47 ABC what the mural says about their school.

“(It says) that we are different from everybody else and that we are unique, because I don’t think any of the other schools have done this and it really shows who we are,” said Maria Cusiamano, an eighth grader.

47 ABC asked Cusiamano what her book said.

She said hers had to with space, with a quote about exploring, because as she says you don’t truly known your self until you explore yourself.
