Positive numbers for MD lower shore real estate industry

Home sales in the U.S. suffered a steep drop-off last month, according to the National Association of Realtors. They fell 7.1 percent.
However, the industry on Maryland’s lower eastern shore has a bit of a different story. Local inventory increased by 8 percent in all counties.
There were increases of more than 24 percent and 75 percent in Wicomico County single family homes, and condominiums respectively. Worcester had a 3.9 percent increase in contracts or pending sales.
Linda Moran, the president of the Coastal Association of Realtors, says locally we’re seeing a positive trend because this area was the first to suffer during the recession. She believes this will be a robust Spring for the housing market on Maryland’s Lower Eastern Shore.
Moran says, “I just feel it. I’ve been in the business thirty-seven-years. Agents that I’m talking to are all busy. They’re all keeping busy. The interests rates are still very favorable.”
