Police: Traffic initiative yields 100 stops

Six state troopers lined Route 50 westbound on Sunday as part of a traffic initiative, yielding 100 stops.
Police from the Maryland State Police Salisbury Barrack were stationed on Route 50 at Hobbs Road from 9:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Sunday.
They were conducting a traffic initiative, particularly aimed at those who violated cell phone and tint laws.
According to police, no arrests were made; however, the effort led to 100 traffic stops, 16 citations, 39 warnings, and 55 safety equipment repair orders.
An official from the Salisbury barrack of the Maryland State Police tell 47ABC this initiative is done “periodically” as a reminder of the laws against the usage of cell phones while driving and unlawful tints.
