Police: Teenager robbed at knifepoint, information sought

Information is being sought from the public after police say an 18-year-old woman was robbed at knife-point on Friday night.

According to the Dover Police Department, it happened near the WSFS Bank on South Dupont Highway just before midnight.

We’re told the victim was withdrawing an undisclosed amount of money from the Drive-Thru ATM when she was approached by a male suspect. He reportedly demanded her cash and threatened the victim with a knife.

Police say she complied, and the suspect then ordered her to withdraw more cash.

Corporal Mark Hoffman of the Dover Police Department says the victim complied with the suspect’s demands, but she drove off quickly before the transaction went through.

Police describe the suspect as a black male who was last reportedly seen wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, black shirt underneath, and jeans. According to police, the suspect was accompanied by at least two other people. No description was provided for the two others.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at 302-736-7111. Callers may remain anonymous.
