MSHA warns about busy roads for Easter weekend

Easter weekend is officially here, which means plenty of you may be traveling to see family or friends. The Maryland Highway Administration says, expect the roads to be busy.
Donnie Drewer of the Maryland State Highway Administration says he sees Easter as the unofficial start of tourist season because a lot of homeowners tend to use their beach-front homes this time of the year, before they rent them out to the public in the summer. If you are traveling, he says travelers should give themselves extra time and if you can, try and leave a little early.
Drewer tells 47 ABC, “During major weekends like Easter we try to not have any construction projects or lane closures. When you get on the road pay attention to what you’re doing, don’t be on cell phones or texting, or doing things like that pay attention to your driving, you’ll get there a lot safer and everybody else will get there a lot safer.”
Drewer says right now, there is a major project in the northern part of Ocean City, which will be put off until next week.
