TO: ALL STAFF
FROM: KATHLEEN
DATE: 14 March 2016
SATURDAY PARKING RESTRICTIONS: Due to the Easter Egg Hunt this Saturday, all vehicles in the Top Lot #1 should be moved to the Bottom Lot #1 by 7PM Friday evening. In advance, thanks much for your attention to this request.
RENOVATIONS UPDATE:
Installation work on the new HVAC system for downstairs took place last week with the ducts being run and the unit itself being lifted onto the roof. In case you missed it, here is a picture of the exterior process. The old HVAC unit was removed from the roof at the same time and work should be completed this week. The timing was good and we have beat the first heat of summer!
- The replacement door selection has been finalized and Bill is double checking the openings before ordering.
- Quote for railing was expected last Monday. We’re still waiting. Repeat after me: “Patience is a virtue!”
- Lobby furniture: Ship date from the factory is tomorrow. It will first go to our vendor, inspected and then delivered to us.
- The replacement dividers for the Sales Department should be in this week and a station Team is ready to install upon arrival!!!
OUT IN THE COMMUNITY
Last week, Jobina Fortson was a panelist at the Salisbury University chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists event. “Race in the Media” was the topic and it was addressed by a panel consisting of our own Jobina Fortson, an NPR reporter from Baltimore, SU’s police chief and two student activists. The goal of the panel was to discuss how and why people of color, particularly African-Americans are portrayed in the media as they are.

- Last Wednesday, Terri Mahoney and Kurt Herring manned our booth at the Ocean Pines Chamber’s Business Expo at the Yacht Club.
- Last Thursday, Teri Monahan, Phil Bankert and Linda DiGrazio attended the Salisbury Chamber’s Business After Hours at the Rotary Scout and Community Center.
- This Wednesday, Jaisol Martinez will serve as a panel member at “Women Supporting Women” to discuss career opportunities.
- Also this Wednesday, David Caldwell will represent us at Salisbury University’s Career Day event.
- This Saturday, Phil Bankert, Greg LaFrance, Lissette Nunez and Brian Ortiz will be working our Latino Flavor promotional booth and collecting resumes at the Building Delmarva Job Fair in Georgetown (11AM-4PM). If you get up there, our booth is located right next to Maxima/The Voice Radio as you come in. You can’t miss us!
YOUR EDUCATION, YOUR FUTURE: Education is the key to all of our futures. To that end, I offer the reminder that registration for Continuing Education & Workforce Development (non-credit) courses began last week at Wor-Wic Community College.
