Millville receives $200,000 grant for public park

DNREC has awarded nearly $1.3 million in trust fund grants for local parks and trail projects, and the town of Millville received one of the largest sums from the fund.  The town received $200,000 of that money for the construction of Sussex Municipalities first public park according to DNREC.

Steve Maneri, Deputy Mayor for the town of Millville says a 5 acre plot of land was sold to the town, and that will be the site for the park.  It will include two playgrounds, one for younger children (2-5) and the other for children up to age 12.  It will also feature a trail, and a fitness challenge course including an obstacle course that electronically times you, and allows you to compare that time to others around the world on the same course through an app.  The course also features an electronically timed 40 yard dash.    A gazebo will be on-site to hold community gatherings, as well as a community center, and garden.

Maneri says the park will be a safe place for the whole community to come together.
