Man Arrested on Drug Charges Following Crash

A Milton man was arrested late Saturday night on drug charges after crashing his vehicle in Milton.

According to Delaware State Police, the single car crash happened Saturday at 10:43 p.m., after troopers responded to Gravel Hill Road east of Huff Road, for the report of a single vehicle crash. Upon arriving, troopers learned that Spencer E. Brittingham II, 22, of Milton, was operating a 1995 Mercedes Benz 420, and was traveling in a southbound direction on Gravel Hill Road, Milton. Brittingham lost control of his vehicle as he attempted to negotiate a right hand curve in the roadway. The Mercedes then struck a tree where it came to a stop. Brittingham was not injured.  There were no other passengers in the vehicle during the crash.

As troopers conducted an inventory search of the Mercedes, they located a book bag containing approximately 165 grams of marijuana and $310.00 in suspect drug sale proceeds on the rear seat floor board.

Troopers transported Brittingham to Troop 4 where he was arrested and charged with Possession with the Intent to Distribute Marijuana, 6 counts of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Careless Driving. He was arraigned at JP Court 3 and released on $8250.00 unsecured bail.
