House Fire on Phillips avenue in Salisbury

Salisbury Fire Department says that a house caught fire on Phillips avenue off of Priscilla road Thursday. The Fire Chief on duty tells 47ABC that the fire actually started outside the home on a back patio area, and the flames then spread inside up to the attic.
A retractable awning on the patio was the part of the house that was responsible for the flames spreading to the inside of the house. Officials say that Salisbury Fire Department was able to send seven units and over 20 firefighters to the scene, who got the blaze under control in a matter of minutes. No injuries were reported and the Maryland State Fire Marshal is still investigating the blaze.
