Habitat for Humanity speaks in Annapolis

Wicomico County Habitat for Humanity has presented their support for a bill in both the state senate and house that would award the non-profit with a bond to help continue their work.

Executive director Molly Hilligoss said that they are seeking $120,000 that would go to purchase, or renovate, six houses that will be sold to low-income families at discounted rate.

Saturday, Hilligoss appeared before both the senate and house to voice her support for the bill.

Hilligoss said she hopes that Gov. Larry Hogan will appropriate money for the bond bill.

Currently, the bill is sponsored by Sen. Addie Eckardt in the senate, and Del. Sharee Sample-Hughes in the house.
