Gordon’s Pond Trail set to reopen after storm repairs

Gordon’s Trail Pond in Cape Henlopen State Park is set to be reopened by the end of the week. Patrick Cooper of DNREC’s division of Parks and recreation says that a 2.5 mile section of the trail had been closed since the end of January because the recent winter storm made the area unsafe for biking and hiking.
Cooper says the repairs which are nearly complete cost a little over $80,000. He stressed the importance of finishing the repairs in time for events that will take place during the spring. Gordon’s Pond Trail is part of an 18 mile circuit that includes the Junction & Breakwater Trail, as well as surface roads in Lewes and Rehoboth Beach.
