Gerber organic baby food pouches recalled due to defect

An announcement for parents, a local grocery chain has pulled several baby food products from their shelves, because of a packaging defect.

Giant Food says Gerber Products Company they are recalling specific organic pouch products, after discovering a packaging defect that may cause spoilage during transport and handling.

The following products are included in this recall:

  • GERBER® Organic 2ND FOODS® Pouches – Pears Carrots & Peas, 3.5 oz pouch, UPC 15000074319; Batch 51945335XX with a best by date of July 12, 2016 and Batch 51955335XX with a best by date of July 13, 2016
  • GERBER® Organic 2ND FOODS® Pouches – Carrots, Apples & Mangoes, 3.5 oz pouch, UPC 15000074395; Batch 51955335XX with a best by date of July 13, 2016 and Batch 51965335XX with a best by date of July 14, 2016

Those who have purchased these products should discard any unused portions, and bring the purchase receipt to Giant for a full refund.
