DSU Upset Bid Falls Short Vs. Florida A&M

The Delaware State University women’s basketball team saw their season come to an end on Tuesday when they fell to Florida A&M in the opening round of the MEAC Tournament 79-74. After being down early, the Hornets went on a big run to cut the deficit to just 3, but could never get over the hump.
The Rattlers came out red hot from the field, connecting on 3 straight long balls and quickly opened up a 12-2 lead. After being down by as many at 14, DSU would go on a nice run. NaJai Pollard would add a couple scored in the post, while Mikah Aldridge would add a couple buckets in transition as well as from the outside. They would cut the deficit to just 2 late in the second quarter, but would head to halftime down 4. The Rattlers then came out and would go on a big run in the third quarter to again push the lead to double digits. The lead would stay there til late in the 4th when DSU would have one last push. Time would run out on the comeback effort though, as they came up just a little bit short.
