DE farmers’ markets gear up for new season

With a record breaking season last year, twenty-three community-run Delaware farmers’ markets are getting ready to start up again.
The season begins in April. Last year, Delaware farmers’ markets produced more than $3 million in sales. That’s a more than $300,000 growth since 2014. Nine markets will be offering EBT transactions this year.
Karen Stoedter, the director of the Milford Farmers’ Market, says becoming a patron allows people to connect with the folks that grow their food. She continues, “It helps support the local farmers and put food on the table. It’s just a wonderful thing so come out.”
