Crash sends 8 to hospital; police say alcohol a factor

A two vehicle crash reportedly injured eight people Saturday evening, and police say alcohol was involved.
Delaware State Police say the crash occurred at approximately 7:38 p.m. on Saturday in Bridgeville, where a Dodge Ram Pickup, driven by Terrence M. Harrison of Harrington and a Chevrolet Impala, driven by Pablo Busto-Rofal, of Lincoln, collided at the intersection of Apple Tree Road and Oak Road after Harrison reportedly failed to stop at a stop sign upon entering the intersection.
After the impact, both vehicles began to spin and traveled into the woods located southeast of the intersection where they came to rest.
Pablo Busto-Rofal, as well as a one year old female passenger in his vehicle, were removed from the scene by EMS and transported to the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where they were treated for their non-life threatening injuries. An eight year old male passenger in his vehicle was also transported to Nanticoke Memorial before being taken to the A.I. DuPont Hospital where he was admitted for his injuries. A 32 year old female passenger, as well as a 23 year old male passenger in Busto-Rofal’s vehicle, were removed from the scene and transported to the Milford Memorial Hospital where they were treated for their injuries.
Terrence Harrison was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to the Milford Memorial Hospital where he was admitted for his non-life threatening injuries. A 30 year old male passenger in Harrison’s vehicle was removed from the scene by EMS and transported to the Milford Memorial Hospital where he was treated for his non-life threatening injuries. A 23 year old female passenger in his vehicle was also removed from the scene and transported to the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital where she was treated for her non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers have obtained warrants charging Harrison with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, four counts of Vehicular Assault 1st Degree, three counts of Vehicular Assault 2nd Degree, and assorted other charges. He will be formally arrested upon his release from the hospital.
