AAA: Md. drivers paying $1.77 per gallon

Motorists in Maryland are paying 8 cents more at the pump when compared with a week ago.

AAA Mid-Atlantic said Friday in a report that the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in Maryland was $1.77, up from $1.69 a week ago.

The price of gas in the state 4 cents below the national average of $1.81.

The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gas in cities around the state includes $1.76 in Baltimore, $1.74 in Cumberland, $1.85 in Hagerstown and $1.70 in Salisbury.

Motorists in the state are paying 68 cents less per gallon than at this time last year when the average price of a gallon of regular gas was $2.45 per gallon.
