Worcester traffic stop leads to drug bust

Members of the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office say a Deputy reportedly stopped a vehicle in the area of Worcester Highway and Kepler Lane in Bishopville on Monday, and ultimately discovered the driver was in possession of several controlled dangerous substances.

Officers say Shaquil Juwan Turnage, 23, of Seaford, gave a Deputy the wrong name when he was initially stopped for speeding. Authorities learned Turnage was wanted out of Delaware on two warrants.

Authorities say Turnage was arrested, and deputies conducted a search of his vehicle which turned out several CDS were found.

Sheriff’s Deputies say Turnage was taken into custody and charged with CDS Possession-Not Marijuana, CDS Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Fraud-Person Assume Identity to Avoid Prosecution, False Statement to a Police Officer, CDS Possession of Marijuana L/T 10 Grams (Civil Citation), Driving Vehicle without License or Authorization, Fail to Display License Upon Demand, and Exceeding Maximum Speed Limit.

Turnage is reportedly currently being held at the Worcester County Detention Center on no bond.
