Wicomico County man gets 40 years for rape charge

A Wicomico County man has been sentenced, after being convicted of rape.

On Friday, 23-year-old Jesus Garduno Cruz, was sentenced to 40 years in prison, with the Maryland Department of Corrections, for first degree rape that he was convicted of during a jury trial.

The charge stems from a May 22, 2015 incident, in the area of Levin Dashiell and Naylor Mill Road.

Cruz will also remain on the sex offender registry as a Tier III sex offender for the remainder of his life.
