UPDATE: Victims identified in Worcester Co. work zone crash

Members of the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office say one person has died, and another was flown to Shock Trauma, after both were struck by a car along the side of Greenbackville Road on Monday afternoon.

Officers say around 1:20 P.M., a 2010 Kia was traveling south on Greenbackville Road, trying to pass a work zone, when the driver swerved back into its lane to avoid an oncoming vehicle.

Police say the Kia drove through the work area and struck two Worcester County employees. According to Lt. Ed Schreier of the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, Scott Tatterson, 48, of Pocomoke City was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second worker, Wade Pusey, 23, of Seaford, Del., was reportedly transported by Maryland State Police helicopter to University of Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore, where police say he is in critical condition.

Sheriff’s officers say the driver of the Kia was transported to Peninsula Regional Medical Center and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The names of all victims are being held pending family notification.
