UPDATE: Victims identified in fatal Worcester Co. crash

Maryland State Police have identified the victims killed in a crash on Friday afternoon, in Worcester County.

Police say just after 11:00 AM, Troopers responded to the report of a collision on Route 113 at Bishopville Road. Once on scene, they say they found that 40-year-old Jason Hugh Blevins, of Delaware, was driving a 2015 Mercedes SUV on Route 113, but ran a steady red traffic signal at Bishopville Road. Police say the van then crash into a 2013 Peterbilt tractor trailer that was hauling propane, that was driving through the intersection.

Both Blevins, and his passenger, 38-year-old Margaret Marie Adams, also of Delaware, were dead when medical personnel arrived, according to Police. Both have been sent to Office of Chief Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

Route 113 was reportedly closed in both directions for about eight hours.

The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, Maryland Office of Chief Medical Examiner, Bishopville Fire Department, Showell Fire Department, Natural Resource Police and Maryland State Highway administration assisted with the incident.

The Maryland Department Of The Environment has confirmed they were also on scene of the crash.

According to a spokesperson, they were called out to remove the fire hazard. The tanker truck that was involved in the crash apparently has some residual propane in the tank. Officials say they are going to flare off the remain bit of propane.
