UPDATE: No serious injuries following Dorchester Co. crash

A tractor trailer carrying landfill runoff water overturned earlier today following a collision in East New Market. Fire crews from Hurlock and East New Market responded.

Officials say the tractor trailer and an SUV were traveling in opposite directions on East New Market Road when the tractor trailer hit the back of the SUV on the drivers side before overturning as it rounding a bend.

Fire officials told us their biggest concern was diesel fuel from the overturned truck spilling out into surrounding soil. Crews pumped out and disposed of the diesel fuel. We’re told any area of land that was contaminated was replaced with new soil.
