UPDATE: Flu confirmed at Del. correctional institution

Suspicions of the flu at a Delaware correctional center, have apparently been confirmed by lab tests.

On Wednesday, the Delaware Department of Corrections announced that visits were cancelled at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution, after several inmates had presented with signs of the flu.

On Thursday, lab tests apparently confirmed Influenza A, in two of the specimens. Two more cases are apparently now being evaluated, and tested.

The DOC says they are continuing to work  with the Division of Public Health to confirm test results of inmates who present with flu-like symptoms.

Initially visitation, programs, etc., were cancelled until Friday, but that has been changed to remain in effect until further notice. Officials say they hope to return to normal operations as soon as practical.
