UPDATE: Delaware teen needs public’s help

Becky Reinas, the 17-year-old who is battling chronic kidney disease, is now in the intensive care unit at Alfred I. Dupont Hospital, after it was found her heart was not pumping strong enough to send blood throughout her body last Wednesday.
We’re told because of that, blood was being pushed back into her lungs and her heart had become enlarged.
Now, after a week and a half of treatment, we’re told Reinas is doing better and doctors are optimistic she’ll be able to return home in a few days.
Saturday, 47 ABC was able to speak to a friend of the family about Reinas.
“She definitely has a fight to her,” said Edie Rich, a family friend. “Nobody I know at the age of 17 would go through with what they’re doing without whining and complaining and carrying on. She’s just a strong young girl.”
Rich says Reinas still needs support, as Reinas still needs a kidney transplant and an eventual heart transplant. . A GoFund Me account has been set up to help her family financially. We’re told money is also needed to help the family of the eventual kidney donor.
