UMES Edges MEAC Leading Hampton

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men’s basketball team picked up a big conference win Saturday when they knocked off conference leading Hampton at home 73-70. The win improves the Hawks to 8-16 overall, and moves them into 5th place in the conference.
The Hawks would come out of the gates quickly as Devin Martin would hit a mid range jumper, followed by a 3 to help open up a double digit lead. The Pirates would then respond as Regional Johnson would get a couple quick scores to draw his team back even. But then Dominique Elliott would then take over, scoring in the mid range as well as going to work on the block, finishing with a game high 23 points.
UMES returns to work Monday when they host Norfolk.
