Three charged in multi home drug bust in Laurel

Police in Laurel say, after a lengthy investigation into illegal sales of narcotics at a number of homes in Laurel, three suspects are now behind bars facing numerous drug charges.
According to the Laurel Police Department, at around 3 PM on Thursday, officers from their department and the Delmar Police Department executed a search warrant at a home on Oak Lane Drive. During that search officers say, they found 387 bags of heroin, powder cocaine, marijuana and over $6000 in cash. As a result 34-year-old Edsel Wooten and 37-year-old Lewis Dickerson both of Laurel were arrested.
Then police say, they conducted another search warrant of a home on Willow Street. That search reportedly revealed many drug paraphernalia items. As a result of that search 37-year-old Rocco Mangino, of Laurel was arrested.
Both Wooten and Mangino had active warrants for their arrest issued out of the Sussex County.
Prior to being arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court, reports say Wooten had to be transported to the hospital for an unknown medical condition.
Dickerson was released on a $28,500 unsecured bond. He and Wooten share the same charges of possesses a controlled substance, manufactures, delivers, or PWID a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possess consume a controlled or counterfeit substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Mangino was released on a $3000 unsecured bond for his new charges, but was committed to SCI in default of a $12,000 cash bond for his other active warrant.
After being released from the hospital, Wooten was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of a $82,000 cash bond for his new charges and a $25,000 cash bond for his active warrants.
