“The Choice Bus” rolls in to Woodbridge High School

The Mattie C. Stewart Foundation and State Farm are making it clear that life is all about the choices you make through their “Choice Bus.”
When taking a look inside, it appears to be a standard school bus on one end, but then there’s a jail cell on the other side. The beds, sink, and toilet are all from a real prison.
The Choice Bus has been making it’s rounds through Delaware this month and made a stop at Woodbridge High School on Friday. On the bus, students learned the benefits of an education. For example, a college graduate earns at least $1 million over the course of their lifetime. They also talked about how staying in school can help avoid incarceration.
Chet Pennock, the lead presenter for the bus says, “Eight out of ten people in prison didn’t finish high school. We want to make sure everyone understands that’s an important step in your life toward opportunity and not toward negative consequences.”
