Seahawks Soar Past Indians

The Stephen Decatur girls basketball team picked up yet another win Friday night when they rolled past Indian River 61-20. The win improves the Seahawks to 17-1, while the loss drops the Indians to 5-11.
The Seahawks jumped out to a quick lead as Dayona Godwin was going for the home team. She scored time and time again in transition as the Seahawks quickly opened up a double digit lead. Once the Indians starting paying her more attention, she was able to start distributing the ball to some of her teammates as Lexie VanKirk and Amaya Mumford scored several buckets underneath. The Indians continued to fight, as Kealey Allison was able to knock down a coupe shots from the outside, while Julia Jordan added a couple scores on the block. Decatur just kept on coming though as they were able to put it away early.
Stephen Decatur returns to work on Tuesday when they travel to Kent County, while Indian River host Lake Forest on Tuesday.
