Salisbury group sends off water to Flint

Delmarva taking action for Flint

On Wednesday, 50K Souls, a local charity group shipped off pallets of water to help assist in Flint, Michigan.

Earlier tonight members of the group loaded up a Perdue truck outside of the Brown Street Gym. Pallets upon pallets were loaded into the truck which was made availible by the Greater Salisbury Committee and Perdue. From there the truck began the trek to Flint Michigan.

We’re told the group gathered about 5,000 cases of water through donations from as far as Smyrna and Queen Anne’s.

“It’s a humbling feeling bring people together in this manner. For some people it may be surprising but to me it’s a normality. People always come together to support some of the things that we do because of the initiatives we put on in our community,” said Jermichael Mitchell, a member of the group.

Although the water is there – the group still needs help raising the money to get two additional trucks to bring the water to Michigan.
