Roberts Career Day Powers Jags To Win

Freshman phenom Danasia Roberts exceed all expectations Monday when she exploded for a career high 50 points and 25 rebounds in Washington’s 74-38 win over Colonel Richardson. The win improves the Jags to 8-11, while the loss drops the Colonels to 5-11.
The jaguars would come out of the gates red hot as Roberts would assert herself early. She would score a couple transition buckets on her way to 10 first quarter points. Once attention was brought to her in the post, some outside shots began to drop for Brooke Collier and Monica Stephens. The lead quickly grew to double digits before the Colonels finally got going. Kanyia Raikes would score all of CR’s 7 first quarter points, and then Jazmine Brooks would finally find her touch in the second quarter as she would score a couple buckets. Still, Washington would take a 37-16 lead into the break. Roberts would come out of halftime still hot from the field, connecting on several more outside shots as she simply could not be stopped. The freshman poured in a Bayside-High 50 points while pulling down 25 rebounds in the most dominate performance the Shore has seen this year.
Washington returns to action Thursday when they host Snow Hill, while Colonel Richardson
