Rehoboth Beach Police Chief involved in Saturday morning crash

Members of the Rehoboth Beach Police Department say on Saturday around 7:00 A.M., Chief Kieth W. Banks was reportedly involved in a crash in the area of Route 1 and Miller Road.
Police say details about the crash are limited. According to a press release from the department, Chief Banks was involved in a two-vehicle collision.
State Police say the driver of a Jeep was attempting to turn left across Route 1 when it was struck by Banks’ vehicle, which is reportedly owned by the city of Rehoboth Beach.
According to police, both vehicles involved in the collision were disabled, but no injuries were reported at the scene.
Delaware State Police are reportedly assuming the investigation, as the crash happened within State Police jurisdiction.
47 ABC reached out to Troopers who say neither alcohol nor speed were factors in the collision.
The Rehoboth Beach Police Department has announced it will fully cooperate and assist in any way necessary with the investigation of the crash.
