Police: Man killed in pedestrian crash

An investigation is underway after a pedestrian crash killed a man, police announced Sunday.

According to the Maryland State Police Easton Barrack, authorities responded to Route 50 eastbound and mile marker 55 around 9:53 p.m. Saturday for a reported collision involving a pedestrian.

We’re told the driver, identified as 37-year-old Easton woman Karen Newton, was traveling eastbound on Route 50 when she struck the pedestrian in another lane. The pedestrian, identified as 34-year-old Centreville man Mason Larrimore, was transported to Easton Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say a preliminary investigation has revealed the cause of the crash was a pedestrian error.

According to authorities, any possible charges related to this incident are still pending.
