Police: 85 bags of heroin seized after warrants

Heroin, marijuana, digital scales and over 2,400 dollars were seized by authorities after a month-long investigation led to the arrests of two people, police announced Saturday.

According to the Milford Police Department, 43-year-old Lanier Wheatherly and 34-year-old Lauren Merchant were arrested Thursday after search warrants were executed on a car and home located on the 6000 block of Pine Tree Lane in Milford.

Police reportedly seized 86 bags of heroin, 79.3 grams of marijuana along with digital scales and over 2,400 dollars in cash.

According to police, an 11-year-old child had also been residing at the home.

Wheatherly was arraigned and committed to SCI in default of $23,500.00 cash bond.

Merchant has been arraigned and committed to WCI in default of $23,500.00 cash bond.

They both face charges Possession with the Intent to Deliver Marijuana, Possession with the Intent to Deliver Heroin, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Conspiracy 2nd Degree and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
