Oxygen tank to blame for mobile home fire in Eden

A home oxygen machine apparently started a fire in a mobile home, in Eden.

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office says the owner found the fire around 7:35 PM on Monday, in the bedroom of the Joseph Drive home.

Thirty firefighters from Fruitland, Allen, and Salisbury Fire Departments then apparently responded, and had the one alarm blaze under control in an hour. No injuries were reported.

Investigators say the fire was caused by the owner’s in-home oxygen machine. It has been ruled as accidental. Damages are estimated to total $45,000.
