One arrested on drug charges after traffic stop in Hurlock

A whiff of marijuana during a traffic stop in Dorchester County, apparently lead to the discovery of drugs, and the arrest of a Hurlock man.

The Dorchester County Sheriff’s Office says on Friday, a Deputy pulled over a vehicle on Poplar Street and Dogwood Drive, in Hurlock. While approaching the car, the Deputy says they smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle.

The driver, and vehicle were then searched, during which Investigators say they found a baggie of cocaine on the driver, 25-year-old Jerod Kimble, and a baggie of marijuana in the vehicle.

Kimble was then arrested, and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of paraphernalia. He is now being held at the Dorchester County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond.

The Sheriff’s Office say the Hurlock Police Department assisted in the stop.
